Big Day, initial impressions

What a day! I woke up and spent some time outside admiring the view. Took some pics with my cell phone, wish I had my camera. The stream foams as it skids over the rocks and looks great, I took a pleasant nap beside during one of our break sessions. We are on a tight schedule and there's a lot of information involved. Time was also spent listing and praying over our teams testimonies. My team (primaries/juniors) has three other people on it:

Jenny seems to have the most experience of our team, having done work in Cuba with children. She's sharp and a little shy, but definitely shows a great joy in her work. Hayley is very professional and like me is someone who has come back to the faith. She's came to this program despite having a large family emergency looming, showing no small amount of resolve. Emily immediately shows a high affinity with children and she seems to warm up around them. Her warm attitude towards the children present, display the best natural asset I could ask for in a fellow network: Compassion.

The time spent with the other networkers has generated a wealth of initial relationships and a friendly atmosphere that I am by no means familiar with. I especially enjoyed playing Shanghai Hi Rummy with Ryan Dull (High school network and a friend from the college group), Andrea(another High school networker, but a new face), Matt (junior high networker, I met a little before the program) and Jenny (from my team). Me and Ryan were winning, but both got arrogant and lost in the final rounds. I worry whether I will fit in such an open atmosphere as I seem to be the least expressive as the networkers, but It's definitely gonna be a fun summer either way.

First day of networkers

(please note that I will be trying to list a day-by-day account and that these post will be transcrfibed from hardcopy as internet access will be intermittant)

I have arrived in the foothills for my first day of networker training. My fellow networkers are pretty cheerful and very enthusastic. The 'cabin' we will be staying to almost fantastical. Two rather tall stories high, with stone walled bathrooms (and showers) and wooden architure troughout The entire structure sits on the mountainside, overlooking a large rock outcropping, witha swift running stream to the east. In addaition to the usual ice-breakers and worship, we're feeling out each other on a emotional and spiritual level. Too early to tell much about the others, definte nice people.
