Bible Study

We had a really gripping bible study today. The disscussion was on God's plan for our lives and how to hear his voice in our lives. I've always considered it the greatest Irony that the christians who obey God the most seem to recieve the most subtle communciations, while the stubborn folks seem to get the more 'direct' messages. Most the disccusion tough seemed to center on just 'what' consists of a calling. Most of the group seemed to agree along the lines of Luther's belif: That the Priest, the missonary, and the milk maid all are called to do thier job to the best of the abiity as a way of praising God.

The real emotional aspect was the prayer, whatever we discussed during the lesson was quickly swept aside by what was some really emmotional prayer. I mean like 'tears involved' prayer..which is such a rarity for our study group as to leave a good un-nevered feeling. The group has left with a small commitment to be more inclusive of each other this summer and I look foward to it.

ALso, Wednsday rocked. I won't say why, but it rocked.

Networkers 2006

I took the Net Team up on thier Invitation to dinner. I arrived just has the team was finishing thier testimonies. There's nine people on the team and it's amazing how similar they are to the team I worked with. They are starting out nervous and yet unafriad, already ready to handle the issues they've brought with them. They are also facing some of the same issues we were in a frightning level of parrel occurances.

I have to admit I'm a little jealous of them, I have such fond memories of my summer with the church that I really envy the chance they'll have to connect with each other and the children. I wish them all luck and look foward to seeing them change themselves and those around them :)

Albania Meeting

Met with most of the Albanian team today. We discussed our reasons for going and what the experiance would be like. We will be operating in the town of Erske, which is a large mountian town in Eastern Albania. Things look optimistic, with good reports on the people of Albania and how missionaries are viewed there in general. We were warned that they are'nt fans of the Greeks, but I think thats true for most of Greece's nieghbors.

The real adventure was getting to Terry Jaurana's house for the meeting. I manged to push my legendary luck at getting lost to a 1 hour trip around downtown, including a vist to the Lowe nieghboorhood(one of target places to work at someday) and the tower district. I was fustrated and finally ready to call it quits when I spotted a suspicous flannel shirt in the church parking lot and pulled over immeditaly. Sure enough, it was Peter. Turns out the new Networkers team was gathering to head up to thier advance weekend, and Peter was with them. So I managed not only to get directions, but an invitation to dinner as well. SO things worked out well in the end :)
